tree as a family in Israeli soil in honor or in memory of a loved one
At the Latrun IDF Armored Corps center, review (or climb on) the
tanks and learn about battles fought there for the road to
Jerusalem. Ascent to Jerusalem

Stop to visit the Western Wall - In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside
the Western Wall's massive foundation stones. Explore the
Southern Wall Excavations and take a virtual, computerized "walk"
through the Jerusalem Temple at the Davidson Center. Take in a
rooftop view of the Old City's four colorful quarters and then travel
though many centuries as you tour the Jewish Quarter

Visit the newly-opened state-of-the art Holocaust Memorial Museum
and the Children's Memorial at Yad Vashem. Alternative for younger

that roamed this land during Bible times (latter accompanied by
adult/s and not included in tour price) Enjoy the multi-media Herzl
Exhibit, where the Father of Modern Zionism and his untiring quest
are "brought to life" before your eyes (if available)
Visit the colorful, bustling Machaneh Yehuda open-air market, as
Jerusalem prepares for Shabbat (time permitting)

At the Israel Museum, tour the new Shrine of the Book and the
recently reopened Second Temple Model of Jerusalem; children's
wing also available. Spend some time this morning preparing packages
for Israeli soldiers, including a meeting with soldiers who come to
pick them up (based on availability) Visit some interesting Jerusalem
neighborhoods and meet the people who live in them with Rabbis for
Human Rights. Meet with Ethiopian immigrants at an absorption center.

| Monday, December 28 - Freedom Fighters or Fanatics?

Depart for the Dead Sea region
Ascend Masada by cable car and take part in a moving Bar/Bat
Mitzvah service there; tour this impressive excavation and discuss
the terrible dilemma faced by its Jewish population during Roman
times; descend Masada by the Roman Ramp
Take a camel trek through the desert and enjoy a delicious lunch
and Bedouin hospitality in a Bedouin tent. Stop for a dip in the
amazing Dead Sea. Travel north along Israel's border with Jordan

Travel to the Golan Heights, and stop to gaze down over the Galilee

at the Golan Winery OR Ascend to the peak of Har Bental,
where you can enter army bunkers and take in a panoramic view at
the crossroads of three countries. Visit the charming new artist village
at Moshav Aniam on the Golan Heights, followed by dinner
there at the lovely Suzanne Bistro

Haifa's unique Reform synagogue. Meet there with Rabbi Dr. Edgar
Nof to tour the building and hear about the large array of programs
that the synagogue offers to the Haifa community. Meet members
of Israel's Druze community in Ossafiya; hear about their fierce
patriotism, and enjoy their warm hospitality. Continue to Tel Aviv
At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the
