At Har Herzl Military Cemetery encounter the "silver platter" on which the Jewish people have acquired - and continue to acquire - our state Visit the new state-of the art Memorial Museum, Children's Memorial, and Valley of the Communities at Yad Vashem Visit the colorful, bustling Machaneh Yehuda open-air market, as Jerusalem prepares for Shabbat and to by food for Shabbat lunch and snacks; enjoy lunch (on one's own) Prepare for Shabbat, swim - Kabbalat Shabbat at the Kotel or Shira Chadasha with Rabbi Plotkin - Shabbat dinner at the hotel

Shabbat, 26 June - Shabbat in the Holy City Parashat Balak
Optional "shul-hopping" with Rabbi Plotkin - Enjoy kiddush with Rabbi Plotkin in his hotel room. Afternoon is at leisure; walk through the city, visit with family and friends, or just relax by the pool Havdalah with Rabbi Plotkin - Dinner on your own and enjoy Saturday night on the town.

Sunday, 27 June - Jerusalem of Old
Visit the Israeli Knesset and focus on Israel's political system. In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Kotel's massive foundation stones. Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and take a virtual, computerized walk through the Beit Hamikdash at the Davidson Center. Go way back in time to King David's Jerusalem in David's City and enjoy sloshing through Hezekiah's water tunnel (strap-on water shoes and flashlights needed) Free time for dinner (on one's own)

Monday, 28 June - Freedom Fighters or Fanatics?
Early morning departure for Masada. Ascend Masada by cable car to tour this magnificent excavation; tour the site and discuss the harrowing dilemma faced by its Jewish population during Roman times. Take a camel trek through the desert and enjoy a traditional lunch (kosher, of course) in a Bedouin tent. Stop to enjoy a dip in the Dead Sea. Late afternoon return to Jerusalem. Free time for dinner (on one's own)

Tuesday, 29 June - In the Footsteps of Sages and Mystics
Take a brief tour of the Fuchsberg Center for Conservative Judaism Admire the beautiful Chagall Windows at Hadassah Hospital Depart Jerusalem for Israel's north - Travel to Afula for lunch (on one's own) at the best falafel stand in Israel! Visit the Garinei Afula seed-roasting plant to see how the genuine article is made Explore the magnificently excavated ancient city of Tzippori, home to Rabbi Judah the Prince. Dinner at the Pagoda Chinese restaurant in Tiberias.

Wednesday, 30 June - The Golan Heights.
Travel by jeep "off the beaten track" to the Golan Heights and gaze down over the Galilee as the Syrians once did. Walk through the Syrian bunkers and learn how master spy Eli Cohen revealed their secrets. Free time for lunch (on one's own) in Katzrin. Visit Gamla, called the "Masada of the North" and learn more about its valiant story at the Golan Antiquities Museum. Taste the fruits of the Golan at the Golan Winery. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the Kinneret, followed by dinner at the Decks Restaurant. Evening: Kabbalah orientation with Rabbi Plotkin.

Thursday 1, July - In the Footsteps of Jewish Mystics
Visit the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of Tzefat. Meet with kabbalistic artist, David Friedman, in his studio for a look at Kabbalah through the prism of his paintings. Stop at the Naot Factory to purchase those famous Israeli sandals (time permitting) Ascend Mount Arbel by donkey and then take in a wonderful view of the Kinneret area. Enjoy a special gourmet dinner at Makom Besejera

Friday 2, July - Northern Trails.
Optional outing for men: immerse in the mikveh of the Ari z"l. Visit the grave of the Rambam in Tiberias. Enjoy an "supermarket sweep" activity (ITC program) in Tiberias to learn about modern Israeli "food culture" while purchasing fixings for a picnic lunch and snacks for Shabbat. Begin traveling south. Enjoy a fanciful film about plans to renovate an ancient synagogue, and examine Beit Alpha's striking mosaic floor. Tour the remarkable excavation of the ancient Roman city of Beit Shean, including a magnificent Cardo, many residences, amphitheatre, etc. Continue south for the ascent to Jerusalem. Hotel check-in and prepare for Shabbat. Kabbalat Shabbat at the Kotel or Shira Chadasha with Rabbi Plotkin. Shabbat dinner at the hotel.

Shabbat 3, July - A Heavenly Shabbat - Parashat Pinhas
Optional shul-hopping with Rabbi Plotkin. Optional visit to one of Jerusalem's museums (Israel Museum, Bible Lands Museum, Jerusalem Museum at the Tower of David, etc.) using tickets that are ordered before Shabbat. (walking directions will be provided; extra charge for tickets applies) Shabbat at leisure to visit with friends and family, stroll through Jerusalem, swim, or relax at the hotel. Havdalah with Rabbi Plotkin - Free evening in Jerusalem.

Sunday 4, July - The Modern Hebrew City.
Depart for Ariel; to tour its adjacent IDF base with the base commander and then meet with Mayor Ron Nachman. Enjoy an extremely impressive presentation of the amazing achievements of the Palmach at the new multi-media Palmach Museum. At Independence Hall, relive David Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the State. Group dinner at Maganda in the Yemenite Quarter. Evening: Walk through enchanting Old Jaffa, with an opportunity to purchase a tallit at Gavrielli's.

Monday, 5 July - Digging Israel. Take part in a moving Bar/Bat Mitzvah
Morning service at Robinson's Arch, the "Conservative Kotel". Tour the architectural wonder of the Supreme Court building and learn about Israel's justice system. Climb down into the amazing underground, pre- State bullet factory built by the Haganah under the noses of the British at the Ayalon Institute. Travel to Beit Guvrin for "Dig for a Day," to uncover actual artifacts as you participate in an ongoing archeological dig Free time for dinner in Jerusalem

Tuesday, 6 July - Building the State - Visit the newly opened Menahem
Begin Heritage Center for a highly moving and informative presentation on the life of this inspiring leader. Visit Lifeline for the Old, a moving crafts workshop that employs Jerusalem elderly. Shop for unique handcrafted Judaica items in their store. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure for shopping, relaxing.
