Arrive in Israel, to be met and assisted at Ben Gurion Airport by
your ITC representative (today's program depends on arrival time)
See ancient history come to life at the newly-opened multi-media
center against the backdrop of ancient Caesaria. Excavations include
an impressive amphitheatre and aqueduct
Travel north to the Galilee Region for hotel check-in
Enjoy a Kinneret boat ride followed by a lakeside dinner at Decks
Steak Restaurant or the Chinese Pagoda

| Tuesday, 22 December - In the Footsteps of Mystics and Pioneers
|
Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of
Tzefat; special Jewish handicrafts program available for
children/families while others enjoy additional shopping time (choice
of weaving, beadwork, paper-making, pottery; crafts activities not
yet included in tour price) Travel to the Golan Heights by jeep, off
the beaten track. Stop to gaze down over the Galilee, as the
Syrians once did. Group may split: Taste the fruits of the region in
the form of award-winning kosher wines at the Golan Winery OR
Ascend to the peak of Har Bental, where you can enter army
bunkers and take in a panoramic view at the crossroads of three
countries. Free time for dinner (on one's own) on the Tiberias promenade.
Evening option: Spend some time soaking in the Hammat
Gader Hot Springs, a natural spa since Roman times. Particularly
lovely in the evening with soft music, lights strung from trees (bus
available; entrance not included in tour price)

| Wednesday, 23 December - The Jordan River Valley

Tour Kibbutz Lavi with one of its members and hear about the joys
and challenges of maintaining a kibbutz in the Galilee
Travel south along Israel's border with Jordan
Stop at the ancient Beit Alpha Synagogue to examine its striking
mosaic floor; enjoy a short, amusing film about plans to renovate
this ancient synagogue two millennia ago. Ascent to Jerusalem
Take in a breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem from
Mount Scopus. At Ammunition Hill learn about the fierce Six Day
War battle for Jerusalem that took place here (time permitting)

| Thursday, 24 December - Jerusalem of Old |
Take part in a moving Bar/Bat Mitzvah service at Robinson's Arch,
the "Conservative Kotel" Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and
take a virtual, computerized "walk" through the Jerusalem Temple at
the Davidson Center. Free time for shopping and lunch (on one's
own) in the Jewish Quarter. Travel through many centuries in a
guided exploration of the Jewish Quarter, including entrance to the
Herodian Mansion. In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western

Experience the biblical landscapes park at Neot Kedumim, including
such displays as an exhibit of Sukkot, built according to varied
descriptions in the Mishnah. At the Israel Museum, tour the new
Shrine of the Book and the impressive Second Temple Model of
Jerusalem. Stop to see the Knesset Menorah and recall the many
stories from Jewish history that are sculpted on it

your eyes. Walk through the Har Herzl Military Cemetery, focusing
particularly on the graves of Yitzhak Rabin and Michael Levine

was assassinated. Enjoy an impressive presentation of the amazing
achievements of the Palmach at the recently opened multi-media
Palmach Museum Shop for unique craft items in Nachalat Binyamin's
colorful, open-air market, and see modern Tel Aviv in action
